SAMSUNG GALAXY A9 REVIEW
It seems that in the coming times, the dual camera will also prove to be an old feature, as Samsung has launched its new Galaxy A9 in India with not four, but three cameras. This is the first phone in the world in which you have been given 4 camera sensors on the backside, which makes it most special and different.

Samsung Galaxy A9: design and build
The design of the Galaxy A9 is very similar to the Galaxy A7 with triple cama but there are some clear differences between the two.Unlike the flat back of the Galaxy A7, the A9 is slightly curved towards the rear glass edges which gives you a good grip. Although this change is not very special, in the case of Galaxy A9, it proves to be much better because it is a bit bigger and heavier. If you look at the size, it is almost the same as the Galaxy Note 9.
Galaxy A9 is the first mid-range smartphone introduced by the company, which also has a Bixby-button. But you have given the volume button on the other side, this proves to be much better for those users who do not use the Bixby button as much as in Note 9 and S9.
As usual, Samsung still gives the camera set up in a flat (almost) form on the back-panel, which proves to be a very good move. Apart from this, here you have been given a fingerprint sensor in the rear-side instead of the side-fingerprint sensor with the power button.
One of the best things with this device is its color options - Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink, and Lemonade Blue. In the blue and pink color variants, you have also been given gradient finishes which, despite being strong, can be a bit brighter for some users.
Apart from all this, there is also a USB Type-C port and an audio jack at the bottom, along with a speaker grill. The dedicated card slot is also provided for extra storage. The box also gives you a transparent case cover.
Samsung Galaxy A9: display
Samsung Galaxy A9 features an AMOLED display. The 6.3-inch Infiniti screen FHD resolution, great contrast as well as the ability to switch to different color profiles.Along with the display, you are also given a special feature of Samsung's Always-on display, on which the home button is not as pressure-sensitive as on high-end phones but it is capable of turning on the screen on double-tap. With this, it proves very useful at the time of face unlock.
Looking from the front, there are bezels at the top and bottom which are similar in shape. The notch is also not given on the display but it looks attractive even without the notch.
Samsung Galaxy A9: performance and software
Internally, Samsung has given the octa-core Snapdragon 660 mobile chipset to the Galaxy A9 here. It is a powerful mid-range chipset but it is also true that it is a slightly older chipset set and you can get this chipset at almost half the price.Snapdragon 845 is not right, but given the Snapdragon 710 chipset, this device would seem quite attractive but Snapdragon 660 chipset also proves to be effective. There is 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant option.
The performance of the device remains quite good. The performance remains good when playing high-end games, but the device is also slightly hot here. PUBG also runs comfortably in HD, high settings.

The Galaxy A9 also has support for Dual SIM Dual VoLTE and call quality is also good. The fingerprint sensor given in the device is also very fast and reliable. Face Unlock does not get you as fast as Oppo or Vivo phones.
On the Galaxy A9, you get the Android 8.0 Oreo-based Experience UI. We hope that after a short time the device can be given Android Pie and new UI update. This user interface of Samsung is very well designed and is very user friendly.
There is also some pre-installed application here and only the mini version of Samsung pay has been given in Galaxy A9, which seems to be a price reduction. Galaxy A9 has a Widevine DRM L1 certificate but you cannot stream HD content from Prime Video or Netflix.
Samsung Galaxy A9: camera performance
Talking about the camera, Samsung has introduced a rear camera setup with 4 camera sensors for the first time here. You will mostly use the primary 24MP sensor (wide f / 1.7 aperture), but Samsung has also given you a depth sensor, wide-angle and 10MP telephoto lens (2x zoom). You also get to see some software improvements here. For example, the software improves image quality by taking 4-pixel data for better performance in low-light. Smart scene optimizer is also available here and the camera will give you an alert when someone's eyelid is blinking at the time of the image.
Camera
If we talk about camera performance, then it will be called mediocre according to its price. It looks quite good when the image is clicked in the out-door but is a bit frustrated with the camera metering and dynamic range in difficult light. Image details and colors are available at par with other phones available at this price. For now, we have compared the camera performance of the A9 to the OnePlus 6T result and the combat becomes quite stiff but the OnePlus 6T looks a bit better.
When looking at the image result on the big screen, the camera performance looks very similar to OnePlus 6T. Both in-door display and low-light photography look the same.
Although the 3 extra sensors given in the device feel very good, it can not be called a very attractive feature. Zoom-lens and wide-angle lenses have a low resolution and are effective only insufficient light.
In Image View Finder, you are given the option to change between the three sensors, while to use the depth sensor, you have to use live-focus mode. Portrait modes taken by the device are also of medium quality.
Based on our experience, more camera sensors look better, but it is also true that the best smartphone camera so far gives attractive results with the help of just one sensor, so only so many sensors seem to be extras.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Quick Review - Should You Buy It?
Samsung Galaxy A9 can prove to be an attractive smartphone due to a number of different reasons but it seems to be largely dependent on its brand name and 4 camera setup. We have been given an attractive display, superb design, powerful chipset and satisfactory battery here. The Galaxy A7 was also offered to you with an idea with an extra camera sensor, but its price was of a different category, so the competition was different. Samsung still offers the device by not paying attention to powerful hardware or software, due to which the price of the device is slightly felt at the time of launch.
It can be seen as a good alternative to Oneplus 6T for now. If you want to buy a well-known brand of device with good after-cell support, then the Galaxy A9 can be a good option.
The merits
- Great design
- Beautiful display
- Dedicated Card Slot
- Good user-friendly interface
- Camera hardware
- The mini version of Samsung Pay
- No HD streaming support
