IQOO 3 IMPRESSION

In today's time, almost every Chinese smartphone brand in the Indian market has made a lot of change in the strategy to make its grip. Under this new strategy, Vivo has also launched iQOO as a separate gaming-centric brand to make a fresh start after the Poco brand, which was separated by Oppo, Huawei, Lenovo, and recently Xiaomi.

IQOO has started its smartphone range by launching 4G and 5G versions under the iQOO 3 Series. Both phones have been introduced with different RAM and storage options and similar specifications. In its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, you have also supported 5G connectivity.

Realme had already taken the tag of introducing India's first 5G smartphone from iQOO, but still, 5G connectivity in the market seems to be a far-fetched one because according to the report, Indian telecom operator still has 4G speed all the way to the user.

iQOO 3 5G Review: Design and Build

If you look at the specification sheet of the phone, then it is clear that this device is a flagship-grade smartphone, in which gaming has been given much priority. Despite the gaming-centric, the design of the phone looks quite good despite not being very flashy. The iQOO 3 design looks similar to other flagship phones.

On the front side, you get a large full-view display, on which Schott Xensation UP Protection along with Gorilla Glass 6 protection is also provided on the backside.

The phone has been introduced with Volcano Orange, Quantum Silver, and Tornado Black color options. At the rear, you also get a camera set up in the rectangular shape at the top with a gradient finish.

The volume button and power button can be used easily and both the buttons give good feedback. On the left side, you also have a dedicated button for AI Assistant.

On the right side of the metal rail given around the device, you also get to see 2 touch-sensitive buttons, which are given only for better gaming. Along with this, antennas have been provided around the phone for better 5G connectivity.

The Curve on the back panel gives a good grip when holding the phone but the iQOO 3 with 214 grams looks a little in terms of weight. The 4440mAh fast charging support battery and 5G antenna also make it seem right. IQOO 3 also looks strong in terms of build quality.

iQOO 3 5G review: display

On the front of the phone, you get a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution which is manufactured by Samsung. This display supports a 60Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch refresh rate. The phone also has a blue-light filter or eye protection mode with HDR certification.

The right side also has a small punch-hole on the display, in which the selfie camera is available. In our view, it looks much better than punch-hole tear-drop or U / V shape notch.

The AMOLED panel also offers a dark black dark mode with better color accuracy. The viewing angle of the display is also good and there is no change in color when viewed from here to there. Sun-light visibility is also good because according to the company the display gives brightness up to 1200 nits.

iQOO 3 5G Review: Connectivity & Audio

Talking about the phone, 5G support comes first. For now, the 5G network in India will take some time to get into the mainstream, so it can be a good option for users who want to stay with their smartphone for 2 years.

We have used iQOO 3 5G phones with Jio 4G and Airtel 4G and we did not face any problem in connectivity. Signal strength and call quality are also quite good.

Talking about audio, the phone has mono-speakers at the bottom, which gives the average audio output. You have also given AK4377A Hi-Fi chip on the phone, due to which the output from the earphones is good.

iQOO 3 5G Review: Security and Battery

First, let's talk about the biometric lock. In iQOO 3, you have a new generation in-display optical fingerprint sensor with a GX chip. It is one of the fastest fingerprint sensors available in the market. The phone also comes with Face Unlock feature which is quite fast.

With a large 4440mAh battery, the device is easily able to give you one day of battery backup. Apart from battery backup, the phone also offers 55W fast charging, with which you can comfortably charge your phone 50% in 15 minutes.

iQOO 3 5G Review: Verdict

The company has introduced its 3-series in the market quite well. 5G connectivity does not matter much in the Indian market for now and because of this, the 4G model of iQOO 3 has also been introduced.
Verdict
Verdict

The iQOO can prove to be a fairly good smartphone primarily considering hardcore gaming. The latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, a large 4440mAh battery, does not allow the 55W supercharge to become a drawback if it seems low. The camera setup at the back can give the same results as the Vivo V17 Pro, which is a good thing for a gaming phone.

You also get almost the same hardware here as compared to the Realme X50 5G, but iQOO gets gaming extra triggers, so Realme has taken into account the high-refresh-rate and stereo speakers.

The merits
  • Haptic motor
  • Air trigger
