Realme 6 review: display

Talking about the display, a 6.5-inch LCD panel is given with 20: 9 aspect ratios and Gorilla Glass 3 glass protection. The display bezel with FHD resolution is quite thin. Realme has not used an AMOLED display this time which disappoints a bit.

The special feature given in the phone is the 90Hz refresh rate display. At this price, you do not get the option of a 90Hz refresh rate on any phone. User Experience becomes very good with this.

By default, the display looks a bit bluish and the color, contrast also appears to be average. You can also change the color profile under display settings. On maximum brightness, you can read on the display in sunlight but it could have been even better.

Realme 6 review: Performance and software

Reality 6 uses the MediaTek Helio G90T octa-core chipset. LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage have also been used with the processor. This chipset has also been seen in Redmi Note 8 Pro before this.

The MediaTek G90T was introduced primarily with gaming in mind. In this, you get better gaming than Snapdragon 720G given in Realme 6 Pro. Realme 6 increases the temperature slightly on high-end gaming. The phone also shows a 15% battery drop with 43-degree temperature when playing 30 minutes of PUBG. By default, you can play PUBG in HDR-Ultra settings.

In daily use, the device does not see any kind of problem. The phone runs on Android 10 based on Realme UI. This new UI looks better with very good custom features.

The audio output of the phone is obtained through a loudspeaker but it can be called a quality average. This will be called average with headphones.

DRM L1 certification has been given in Realme 6 but the HD content stream is not supported. Dual VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi calling have been introduced in the phone market.

If the secondary noise cancellation mic is not provided on the phone, then you may have a little problem in terms of call quality.

Realme 6 review: camera performance

On the rear side of the Realme 6 Pro, you get to see the quad-camera setup. It has a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle, and 2MP macro and mono sensor.

The camera setup looks similar to the affordable Realme X2 on the phone and the camera output is also very similar.

The details are better seen in good lighting with the 64MP primary sensor. The colors also look natural to a large extent.

Camera performance drops slightly in in-door and low-light as the image is soft due to too much noise reduction in the output.

When the lighting is good, the photo from the wide-angle is a good click but mostly you do not use it.

In Portrait mode, apart from clicking good images, you can reduce or reduce blur from the camera application itself.

Face beautification is found on by default on the phone, so you have to select natural mode every time, which seems a bit strange. The selfie camera mostly gives you good output.

Clicking images with a macro lens from 2MP is also average, so nothing special can be said about image quality.

Looking at this price segment, camera performance can be said to be good because at such a price you cannot expect too much. Redmi Note 8 Pro and Poco X2 can be said to be better in terms of camera performance.

Realme 6 review: battery

You do not have to worry about the backup of the phone. The large 4,300mAh battery is easily able to provide 1 to 2 days of backup. Along with this, Realme has also supported 30W fast charging and it has been given in the charger box itself, which is a very good step according to this price.

With a fast charger, the device easily gets a full charge in 1 hour, but if there is time, you can use the phone comfortably even on 30 minutes charge.

Realme 6 Review: Verdict

Realme 6 has given you attractive features at an affordable price. Offering such features as a 90Hz refresh rate screen, 64MP quad camera, and 30W fast charging is also a big step in this price which will give tough competition to other brands in this segment.

Users who like gaming more will like this phone. Looking at the price, camera performance can also be said to be good here. Realme UI is a good thing to be given, but looking at the price, Color OS was also correct.

The merits
  • 90Hz refresh rate display
