Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: Design and Build

In terms of design, the Galaxy A51 looks great. The size of the phone is absolutely perfect which looks quite beautiful. The camera setup given to you on the back side is good to see as well as the double texture gradient design is also very good. The punch hole display on the front looks quite trendy.

Despite the premium design and specification of the recently launched Galaxy S10 Lite, we preferred using the A51 because it is lighter in weight and comfortable to hold.

The body of the phone is made of polycarbonate, that is, you do not get to see glass or metal. Samsung has also provided a good quality transparent cover in the box, so do use it. Pre-installed protector is not provided on the display.

The bezel has also been given very thin around the screen. The selfie camera on the display looks a bit different. The O-Notch has been placed in the middle, as seen in the Note series. For this reason you also get a lot of space in the status bar, which is quite a good thing.

The Galaxy A51 uses the 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type C charging port. Also, the facility of triple card slot is provided here. The fingerprint sensor has a place under the screen which feels faster and safer than the optical fingerprint sensor given in the Galaxy A50s.

Face Unlock has seen a lot of improvement compared to earlier, with the features like "Double Tap Wake" and "Lift to Wake" available by default which make the experience even better.

Samsung Galaxy A51 review: display

Samsung's display has always proved to be the best. Now AMOLED display is no longer a special feature in the mid-range segment as other brands are using it, but Samsung's display panel looks ahead in terms of calibration and quality.

The FHD panel of the Galaxy A51 is quite sharp. You can easily choose any of the natural or Vivid color profiles according to your choice. The Dark Mode and Always On Display in OneUI 2.0 makes the AMOLED display even more special. You can easily read on the phone's display even in outdoor.

If you get DRM L1 certification in the phone, then you can easily do HD streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Overall, the A51 has a very good quality display.

What protection has been given by the company on display has not been shared. Perhaps this is why the company has also offered you a one-time screen replacement offer.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: performance and software

Samsung has used the Exynos 9611 chipset here, which is also seen in the Galaxy A50s. But this time as a base variant, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option is given.

We played high-end games like PUBG on the phone, but the performance is not as good as Snapdragon 700-series or 800-series. Which is available in the market at this price.

If you do not do much gaming then you will not be disappointed with the device in daily use. But the interface animation is not very smooth.

The Android 10-based One UI 2.0 looks the best among the other custom skins we have seen. It is also a big advantage to buy Galaxy A51.

Full support of Samsung Pay has also been given in Samsung Galaxy A51. In the A50s you could pay through debit and credit card through NFC, but in A51 you can use card payment on both NFC and MST support. Samsung Pay works well and you do not need to keep your cards with you at all times.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Review: Verdict

Galaxy A51 can be called a good phone in terms of design and camera. The slick design, attractive display, great custom user interface makes its experience even better. Along with such features, the phone also has some drawbacks such as lack of good fast charging with a weak chipset.

The price of the device can be said to be a bit high, but with this premium experience, it looks somewhat different than other options of this time. Offline phones like Vivo S1 Pro and Oppo F15 are going to get a lot of competition from this.

If you say in a line, it is not a perfect phone but it is not less than any other brand's phone according to its price and design.
