REALME AIR BUDS REVIEW | PRICE AND SPECIFICATION

Since last year, Realme has gained a lot of popularity by introducing very good devices in the smartphone market. The company is now expanding the lineup by offering accessories not only limited to smartphones. In this order, along with Realme X2, the company has launched its Realme Buds Air, which has been introduced as affordable true wireless headphones.

Realme Air Buds

Today, there are a lot of options available in the market as affordable and true-wireless buds, but these latest Buds of Realme attract everyone's attention with their price and specification combination.
So will Realme Buds Air prove to be the best in this price segment? To know the answer to this question, let's have a look at the review of Realme Buds Air :
The first thing that will come in your mind as soon as you see the buds is that they look like Apple AirPods at once. There are some differences as well, but with a long stem, it looks a little remotely similar to AirPods, which some users will like very much.

Design

Design

However, there is no shortage in terms of design as we have seen this design before and there is nothing new here which is not a good move for a new product.
Realme Buds Air comes with a square shape charging case. There is also a LED indicator and a small button here with a glossy finish. On the case, you have been given the branding of Realme while the Type-C port is found at the bottom.
When you lift and close the lid, you hear a very good sound. In this case, both buds are magnetically stable. With Glossy Design, it can be easily used in daily use without any hassle.
On the top side with the unibody design, you get a spherical shape bud with output on the side. The silicon tops are not provided here, so audio at high-volume is also heard outside, which I personally like less.
If you look at the buds carefully, you will also see 2 sensors on the side-line of the speaker grill. Realme has given 2 different microphones on both buds here which is helpful in active noise cancellation. One microphone is placed on the joint and the other on the stem. There is a silver ring at the end of the buds and 2 pogo pins at the bottom.
As far as fitting is concerned, these buds are quite comfortable to use. I wore them to the gym and exercised a little jogging but I did not feel any trouble. These buds are very light in weight, so there is no problem in using them for a long time. Overall, I have no problem with their fitting and design.

Hardware & Connectivity

In Realme Buds Air, you get to see Realme's own R1 chip which comes with quite a new and attractive feature. The company's first ear-buds come with a 12nm dynamic base boost driver.
Connecting the buds to the phone is much easier. Also, once connected, whenever you open your cover from the front, it will automatically connect.
As far as controls are concerned, you can play or pause the music as well as answer the call by double-tapping on the surface of the buds.
Further, if you tap 3 times, the music track gets skipped, and if you long-press for a while, the voice assistant can also be used. I liked that there is no action on a single tap here.
Realme has used real-time dual-channel transmission technology so that you can easily use only one earbud.
Buds also have an e-sports mode that can be turned on or off when long-pressing on both buds simultaneously. What is e-sports mode? So this is a sports mode or gaming mode in which the range is reduced slightly but the latency is reduced to 120 ml seconds.
You have also been given a smart in-ear detection feature in the buds, meaning that the music will pause when you are not using them and it will play when you apply them back to the ear.
With the use of them for the last one week, we can say that there is no problem in connectivity, nor there is no problem of tap or latency in the whole time.
Apart from audio quality, it also offers good gesture support along with better connectivity. So overall these buds prove to be one of the best values for money.

Audio and call quality

The most important thing in earbuds is its audio quality. So let's see what audio output do they get?
In testing, we have used buds with Galaxy Note 10 Plus, Huawei P30 Pro, and Macbook Air. Considering the price and specification combination of Reality, we expected that there would be support for aptX, aptX LL and aptX HD, but this did not happen.
In Realme Buds Air, you have been given the support of sub-brand code (SBC) and advanced audio coding (AAC) only. In addition, the use of Buds Air gives the same result on all platforms.

The thing you will like when you use the buds is its loud audio output. In such a small item you get very fast audio output. The sound signature is quite balanced in this, which shows you the clear difference between low and high. The base is quite common. So users who like Jazz or Rock Music will like it.
We have used these buds a lot for gaming and have seen a lot of content on Netflix as well. There is no latency when playing popular shooting and racing games. Also, there is no latency when viewing multi-media content.

As far as calling is concerned, calling becomes a lot easier with their use. Audio from the microphone is heard clearly in the front, in which noise cancellation can be said to be very effective.

battery backup

The battery is also an important component of wireless earphones. Apart from a 3-hour bud backup, a 17-hour backup with a charging case is easily available. We have watched more than 3 hours of movies with a full charge and the volume in the entire movie has been around 65%. The entire movie could be easily watched, and there was no problem.
It takes 1 hour to fully charge these buds. Although in the charging case, Qi wireless charging is supported but fast charging support is not available.

Realme Buds Air Review: Verdict / Conclusion

The biggest feature of Reality Buds that I feel is its easy-to-use process. Will connect easily, give long battery backup, and use it for a long time, makes it best in this price segment.
If you talk about the deficiency, then the audio quality average is found in it, while the design looks much like Apple AirPods. Affordable price proves to be the biggest attraction for the user here.
