Redmi Note 8 Pro Specification
About 6 - 7 years ago, the Indian brand appeared to be doing a great job using the MediaTek chipset in their devices. Xiaomi did not use the Snapdragon chipset for the first time but had paid attention to the use of a stronger and better performance chipset.

Users of the offline market did not give much importance to the chipset, with the same idea that many brands were presenting their devices and Xiaomi started changing this thinking a bit by using Snapdragon Chipset at an affordable price due to which Xiaomi quickly gained popularity.
If you talk about the year 2019, then in the offline market too, Oppo and Vivo have launched attractive phones at an affordable price with the use of Snapdragon chipset. But Xiaomi has used the MediaTek chipset in Redmi Note 8 Pro even once.
So let's have a look at the review of Note 8 Pro, the latest model of the most popular Note series is Xiaomi's Indian market:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Design and Build
In Redmi Note 8 Pro, you have the protection of Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back. Xiaomi has introduced the phone with a premium feel with a glass back. Note 8 offered with it, despite having a glass body, does not prove to be as premium as it should be due to the design of the Pro Variant.
Design and Build
The Redmi Note 8 Pro can be used quite comfortably on hold and the looks are quite premium in terms of price. The bezel around the display is quite thin, with the selfie camera placed under the V-shape notch.
The quad-camera setup is quite raised at the back, below which there is a fingerprint sensor that will look like a camera sensor. The camera setup is so much raised that even after using the cover in the box, it looks a bit lifted.
In Note 8 Pro you also get IP52 certification but it does not give water-resistance. With this certification, the device only supports dust and splash-proof. If you say in other words, besides giving partial dirt protection, it gives you almost equal to water protection.
Along with providing a USB Type-C port as a charging port, there is also an IR blaster and 3.5mm audio jack. For the first time in the Note series, you also get a dedicated card slot.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro review: display
In Redmi Note 8 Pro, you have an IPS LCD display with up to 500 nits of brightness and HDR support. In the software, you are also given dark mode and color adjustment options. Also, some user's touch screen issues have come to the fore but no such problem was seen in our device.
display
The large 6.53-inch display is sharp enough to be used outdoors. The display tone is a bit cool, which is slightly fixed with warm mode. MIUI has some display customization options so that you can change the display of your choice. The color and contrast look better than other options to date.
Although DRM L1 certification has been given in Redmi Note 8 Pro, Netflix and Amazon Prime still do not have support to watch HD or HDR content.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Performance and Software
The most talked-about chipset. Based on the 12nm process, the MediaTek Helio G90T is primarily an upgrade version of the Helio P90. In the chipset, you get the latest Cortex-A76 performance core and Mali G76 MP4 GPU. Apart from this, you are also given the same Cortex A55 core.
Performance
With the chipset, you get LPDDR4x RAM up to 8GB and UFS 2.1 storage up to 128GB.
The gaming performance of the Note 8 Pro is much better. We played high-end games like PUBG and COD and no frame drops or heating issues are seen here.
Xiaomi has also used a copper heat plate here with liquid cooling technology, due to which the phone does not get too hot even at long gaming sessions.
Xiaomi also talked about the Wi-Fi antenna at the event, through which the Wi-Fi connection will automatically shift from the antennas you have covered.
Android Pie based MIUI 10 has been used as software and soon there will also be an upgrade to MIUI 11 for which the company has scheduled December 18 and December 26. After this, it will roll out to all in about a week.
You get to see a lot of pre-installed applications on the phone. Along with this, there is also no promise to provide an add-free interface like the K20-series. This add and application combination of the phone can reduce its premium feel to a great extent.
This time Xiaomi has supported built-in Alexa on the phone, which means that you can use voice assistant from Amazon and Google.
Alexa update is seen only when the phone comes out of the box, but even after the update, there is no significant improvement in Alexa performance.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Camera Performance
The 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor in Redmi Note 8 Pro has been given with a quad-camera setup. We have also tested Realme XT and Galaxy A70s, in which we have already seen the 64MP primary sensor.
Camera
The basic concept of 64MP primary sensor is the same in all phones, only through software optimization you get to see an increase in resolution.
Software adjustment works better here but the image is slightly over-sharp. Despite this, the last result is good for the Indian user.
In daylight, the Note 8 Pro offers a fairly good output with a 64MP primary sensor, with details looking better. Along with this, the image is also quite good with 64MP full-pixel, which I personally liked quite a lot.
Camera performance can be said to be good in low-light. Night mode is not as good but given the price, it is good, at least not better.
The macro mode gives you better output but clicking a good image in the indoor is a bit hit and try.
Wide-angle cameras and telephoto sensors are right for this price, which cannot be said about anything special.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro offers good portrait mode performance compared to other phones in this price segment.
The selfie camera also gives better output in a good light.
Video recording can be said right at this price. You can record 1080p slow-motion video at 240fps. It also has support for 720 @ 960fps slo-mo but if this software is slo-mo, nothing special can be said about them.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Battery and Audio
In Redmi Note 8 Pro, you have been given a large 4500mAh battery which is capable of giving 1-day backup easily. Xiaomi has also provided a fast charger in the box but there is no special fast speed. The output from headphones and loudspeakers is faster but can be called quality average.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Verdict / Conclusion
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the latest model of Xiaomi's popular Note series, which is known for its always superior performance in the Indian market. So is it better than Realme XT? Not to say in practical use. The Note 8 Pro may offer a better gaming experience, but the AMOLED screen offered in the XT, VOOC charging, add-free interface, and improved design make it a premium option. But the Redmi Note 8 will prove to be a good option for those users who just want better gaming.
The merits
- Nice design
- Better display
- Strong performance
- The camera
- Long battery backup
- No HD streaming
- MIUI Add
